Against my better judgement I went into the mall yesterday to pick up a couple Christmas gifts. I tried my best to remain merry and look for positives in the situation. Upon arriving I witnessed at least three incidents of parking lot rage. Inside I was greeted by aggressive sales associates, people pushing and bumping into each other... An overall sense of Christmas Commercialism. I am not writing this to be offensive, as I'm sure there are people out there who enjoy this side of the Holidays.
December 25, 2015 will be my daughter's third Christmas, and my son's second. My daughter is just starting to grasp what is taking place all around her, and my son really has no idea what is going on. My point here is, my children's interpretation of Christmas will be what my Husband and I teach them. We can teach them that Christmas is about having a pile of presents as tall as the tree, or we can teach them that Christmas is a good time to give to others and support their local community. I was raised that it is better to give, than receive. I was also taught that it is better to spend your hard earned dollar locally, where it will have a larger impact on your community. How wonderful is it when someone presents a gift to you, that they have spent hours toiling over? Or they have really put thought into, and present something locally sourced? The impact of this spreads much farther than most people realize. This leads me into Cinderella Clean gift certificates. Thank you for purchasing these from Cinderella Clean! The obvious reason is some lucky family will get the gift of a clean home! The not so obvious is the impact of supporting a local small business like Cinderella Clean. It keeps some really awesome people employed and doing what they love. In turn, they are supporting our local economy! Thank you to all our clients new and old, your continued support of Cinderella Clean is much appreciated! I am very much looking forward to Christmas day to spend some time with my family, but I must admit I'm excited to announce the winner from our Facebook contest! If you haven't yet entered, please go to the Cinderella Clean Facebook page and enter there. If I don't post again before the big day, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
